PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. Or BNI was established on July 5, 1946 and became the first state-owned bank to be born after Indonesian independence. BNI had functioned as a central bank and a commercial bank as stipulated in Government Regulation in Lieu of Law no. 2/1946, before finally operating as a commercial bank since 1955.
Until the end of March 2017, BNI already has 1,997 outlets spread over 34 provinces and 420 districts / cities. BNI has 32 Sentra Kredit Menengah (SKM), 24 Small Credit Centers (SKC), 50 Small Credit Units (UKC), and 12 Consumer & Retail Loan Centers (LNC).
BNI now has 17,075 ATMs spread over 34 provinces and 521 districts / cities including 6 (six) overseas ATMs, 4 ATMs in Hong Kong and 2 ATMs in Singapore. ATM network can also serve debit card transactions with logo Link, ATM Bersama, and Prima.
BNI as a holding company has four subsidiaries, namely BNI Syariah (sharia banking), BNI Life (insurance), BNI Securities (capital market), and BNI Multifinance (financing). BNI Asset Management is a subsidiary of BNI Securities.
