The 2nd edition of BNI Plataran X Trail Bali is coming closer very quickly now. While we allow people to make up their minds very late to come and run one of the three available race distances, the registration fees go up again this weekend. So if you like to save some pocket money, now is the time to commit.
The event features 3 distances of which the longest – 70 km – is a points race in the Asia Trail Master Championship series, well-known in Indonesia thanks to the successes of runners such as Arief Wismoyono (2015 champion) and Ruth Theresia (current women’s championship leader). Ruth will be running the 70 km on 6 October in her attempt to become champion this year, after narrowly missing out on the ATM title last season. The Plataran X Trail course should also suit Ruth’s characteristics as a runner: runable yet with enough technical elements and over 1000m of elevation gain that requires a good level of grit and stamina to keep up the pace until the finish. In the men’s category, we also expect a great battle between some of Asia’s top runners including last year’s Plataran X Trail winner and 2016 Asia Trail Master champion Manolito Divina from Manila in Philippines! In the week leading up to the event, we will be profiling all the protagonists and local Balinese heroes in detail.
Join the trail party at the West Bali National Park on the first weekend of October and sign up this week.
